WINTER SNAPPER COMP 2026

Manukau Harbour fish are worth DOUBLE! - Plus 2nd, 3rd and lucky draw prizes too!

  • $500 Cash Prize – Heaviest single snapper wins

  • June 1st to August 31st 2026
  • Fish anywhere in New Zealand
  • Fish can be caught land based or from watercraft
  • Snapper caught inside the Manukau Harbour count as double weight (x2) for this competition onlyHarbour limits are defined as South Head to Nine Pin Rock
  • Free automatic entry for all current financial members
  • Lucky Draw:One random entry will be drawn from all anglers who have submitted a valid catchLucky draw winner cannot be a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place prize winner

The Fine Print. -  read the rules & don't get caught short!

  • All anglers must be current financial MSFC members at the time of capture, entry, and prizegiving
  • All fish must be caught in accordance with NZSFC and MSFC club rules
  • All entries must be submitted with a fully completed catch sheet and clear supporting photos
  • Catch sheets and supporting photos must be emailed to records@msfc.org.nz before midnight on the final day of the competition
  • All weights must be recorded on MSFC or NZSFC affiliated club scales, or on certified scales
  • If fish are weighed on scales that are not MSFC or NZSFC affiliated club scales, a clear photo of the scales current certification must be provided
  • Any disputes or suspected cheating will be reviewed by the committee and, where applicable, may be referred to relevant authorities where prizes are involved
  • The competition organiser and/or Records Officer reserve the right to refuse, review, verify, or disqualify any catch at their sole discretion where it is considered to breach competition rules, club values, or accepted ethical standards
  • In the event of a tie, standard MSFC countback rules will apply, with the earliest recorded catch time as per the catch sheet determining the higher placing
  • Prize winners must attend the club night immediately following the conclusion of the competition to claim their prizes
